Elizabeth qualified from Bart’s and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2001. She obtained two Distinctions at finals and won several undergraduate awards including the prestigious Draper Prize for Academic Excellence.
Following completion of her vocational training, Elizabeth undertook an eighteen month rotation as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During this time she successfully completed her professional training and obtained her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons (England).
In June 2009 she completed the four year specialist training programme in Periodontology at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Dental Institute, London. During this time she obtained her Masters of Science in Periodontology with merit, her Masters of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology with distinction and her Membership examination in Restorative Dentistry, Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). Her research into the health beliefs and attitude to quitting smoking in periodontal patients has been published in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology. Currently, Elizabeth works both in private practice at Sammut Specialists and at the University of Malta as a Visiting Lecturer.
She is a member of the International Team of Implantology, the British Society of Periodontology, the European Federation of Periodontology and the American Academy of Periodontology (International Member).
