Past Present and Future.

Synopsis

The periodontal tissues have a powerful innate capacity for regeneration. However periodontal wound healing is frequently the result of a repair process rather than regeneration. From initial experiments leading to the development of the guided tissue regeneration concept, this aspect of periodontology has been developed and researched constantly. This talk looks at historical aspects of periodontal regeneration, the current practice and speculates on future developments.
