What to do after an extraction

X’Għandek tagħmel meta taqla’ sinna

  1. Tlaħlaħx ħalqek u tobżoqx qabel ma’ jgħaddu l-ewwel 24 siegħa wara l-qlugħ.
  2. Evita li tiekol jew tixrob ikel jaħraq (bħala temperatura), tipjip u xorb alkoħoliku għall-ewwel 24 siegħa. Tista’ tiekol u tixob affarijiet kesħin jew fetlin bħal gelat, yogurt, eċċ.
  3. Illum evita li titħabat.
  4. Jekk joħroġ id-demm, poġġi ballun tat-tajjar niedi jew garża nadifa niedja fil-post tal-ferita u igdem fuqha għal 15-il minuta jew sakemm jieqaf ħiereġ id-demm.
  5. Timteddx għall-ewwel ftit sigħat wara li jkun sar il-qlugħ.
  6. Jekk ikun hemm uġigħ wara li sar il-qlugħ, ħu mediċina li tikkontrolla l-uġigħ u hija effettiva fuqek bħal ngħidu ahna – Paracetamol jew Ibuprofen eċċ. Segwi l-istruzzjonijiet tal-pakkett.
  7. Jekk imxejt mal-pariri t’hawn fuq u xorta għad għandek xi diffikulta’, jekk jogħġbok ikkuntattjana fuq in-numri hawn, jew ibagħtilna e-mail.

 

Post-Extraction Instructions

  1. Do not rinse your mouth or spit for 24 hours after the extraction.
  2. Do not eat or drink, smoke or drink alcohol for the next 24 hours. You can consume cold or tepid fluids such as lukewarm soup, ice-cream, jelly etc.
  3. Avoid doing strenuous work or physical exercise for the rest of the day.
  4. If bleeding or fresh blood is coming out, place a damp ball of clean cotton wool or damp gauze on the tooth socket and bite firmly for at least 15 minutes or until bleeding stops.
  5. Maintain a slightly elevated position in bed.
  6. If pain persists after your extraction, take any analgesic medication that is usually effective on you such as – Paracetamol, ibuprofen etc. Follow the instructions on the medicine packet.
